Medical and Resuscitation Training

Medical and Resuscitation Training
The resuscitation training listed here is offered in joint partnership with PeaceHealth Medical Center and Lane Community College Employer Training Services.

Each Course consists of advance homework, lecture, and skill testing. A certification card is issued to participants who have completed the course requirements and passed the skills testing.

All courses will be transcripted by the college and the participant will have a permanent record with the college.



Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

ACLS is designed to provide American Heart Association (AHA) standards, cardiac knowledge, and psychomotor skills associated with the delivery of professional care of the cardiac patient. ACLS addresses the core knowledge necessary to evaluate and manage an adult victim of a cardiovascular emergency or cardiac arrest. Program includes: patient assessment, airway management, electrical, and drug therapy.

Basic ECG interpretation is helpful and Basic Life Support for HCP card is included at no extra charge. Course structure is lecture and hands-on skill stations with written examination and satisfactory performance at the evaluation stations according to AHA performance criteria.

Registration

  • ACLS Core Course - Two-day session (12 hrs $155, plus books)
  • ACLS Refresher Course - First-day session only (8 hrs $115, plus books)

  • Registration must be received three business days in advance for EMT Associates courses and seven days in advance for Education for Life courses or you may be denied.
  • Registrations received, confirmed, or dropped after the registration deadline are accommodated to the best of our ability and subject to a $50 late or cancelation fee.
  • PeaceHealth employees must have preapproval before you can register late.
  • Walk-ins are accepted/not accepted at the discretion of each instructor.
  • "A late registration is defined as any registration arriving within three business days of the class at the LCC SBDC. For example, if a class begins on Friday morning, any registration received Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday would be considered late," according to Peacehealth. 
  • Deadlines for PeaceHealth employees are unit specific, please contact your department manager or educator for information.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Developed for health care providers who may be required to resuscitate children. Focuses on assessment of pre-arrest states and prevention of cardiopulmonary arrest in children. Class structure is lecture, hands-on skills stations, and testing.

Registration

  • Initial PALS Certification Course, (Two-day Session $155, plus materials*, if purchased)
  • Refresher Course, First-day only (One-day Session $105, plus materials*, if purchased)

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)

ENA’s TNCC provides ED and ICU RNs with core knowledge and skills to care for the trauma patient. This class includes airway management, initial assessment, helmet removal, multiple trauma interventions, spinal immobilization, and splinting.

Requirements

Current RN License required for certification.

TNCC provider verification is for four years and 14.33 hrs. CEUs are available for attendance.

  • TNCC Core Course - 8 am-5 pm, Two-day session (14.42 hrs $275, plus books*, if purchased)
  • TNCC Refresher Course - 8 am-5 pm, First-day only (8 hrs $215, plus books* if purchased)

This course is packed with essential information you need to help you prepare for the CEN® exam. This is your chance to earn 16.0 contact hours while preparing to sit for the CEN® exam. CNA2 Acute Care

CNA2 Acute Care

This course is focused on the knowledge and skills needed to work in hospitals and other acute care settings. Many hospitals expect their CNAs to be trained to this level. CNA2’s assist licensed nursing personnel in these settings in the provision of nursing care, providing opportunities for optimal patient independence and supporting behaviors that promote positive healing. CNA2 Acute Care curriculum spells out a level of knowledge, skills and abilities (at a greater depth than a level 1 training program) the concepts of safety and preventing complications, communicating patient responses to the nurse, and documenting/recording the outcomes of client care.
