ODOT Small Business Management Program

ODOT Small Business Management Program

The Oregon Department of Transportation is sponsoring the fourth annual Small Business Management (SBM) Program for Contractors at Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) in Oregon. Lane Community College SBDC is offering the program this year.

    • Want to learn more about how to do business with ODOT?
    • Want to learn more about the ORPIN system and how to find contracts?
    • Interested in learning how to prepare accurate and effective bids?
    • Need to understand financial statements, cash flow projections, and other financial details of your business?
    • Like to understand hiring and employment regulations? Insurance and bonding?
    • Have an interest in developing top quality marketing materials and forming a marketing plan?

    Now’s Your Chance!

See the attached schedule for the program which starts 6-9 pm, Monday, February 27 and continues through Tuesday, May 28, 2012 (a total of 9 class sessions). Each 3-hour class will be devoted to small business management topics, understanding ODOT-specific issues, and peer group discussion. In addition, businesses will be eligible to receive one-on-one confidential business advising from an experienced advisor at the SBDC at no additional cost.

    Eligibility

    Your company must be:

    • certified as an Emerging Small Business (ESB), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), or Women Business Enterprise (WBE)
    • capable of performing an ODOT contract (construction or support services that may be associated with transportation or its related services or facilities)

The reduced registration fee is only $200! (That’s less than $10 an hour for the class time alone.) A second person from your business can attend for only $150. This program is too good to miss!  Similar programs cost $1700.

Limited registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Only eligible firms who meet the criteria and send in their application and registration fees will be accepted.
